Vote For Susan Harman

My Bio

I am running for mayor because I believe in Eureka Springs and the people who make our community so special. From the folks who work hard every day to the local businesses that keep us going, we have a unique character here that is unlike anywhere else. But being special doesn't mean we can afford to stand still, and for the last decade, I believe we have been doing just that. We have spent ten years identifying our problems and talking about solutions. Now, it is time to stop waiting and start doing. We need a real plan, we need action, and we need leadership that is ready to get things done. That is why I am running this November 3rd.

My Key Issues

We Need a Plan

Our city deserves more than just reacting to one crisis after another. I believe Eureka Springs needs a clear, five-year vision and a practical plan to get us there. As your representative, I will focus on being proactive, setting clear priorities, and planning responsibly for our shared infrastructure and community. But a plan is only as good as our communication. I am committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. You deserve to know exactly where your tax dollars are going, what our goals are, and whether your city government is making real progress or falling short. Together, we can build a transparent, forward-thinking future for everyone who lives and works in Eureka Springs.

Let's Fix What's not Working

Let's be honest: there are things right here in Eureka Springs that need fixing. Our streets, sidewalks, and infrastructure need real attention, our city could also use a refresh & face lift. I believe our city staff should work hand-in-hand with residents to solve problems, and our commissions and council should actively create ordinances that benefit you, rather than just rubber-stamping agendas. It is time to move our local projects from endless discussion to actual completion, and to make our government truly accountable for how it spends your hard-earned money. I am not running to point fingers or assign blame; I am running to solve problems. When something isn’t working, we cannot just accept it as 'the way things are.' We need to ask how we can fix it, roll up our sleeves, and get to work together.

Let's Build a Stronger Eureka Springs

I believe we don't have to choose between preserving what makes Eureka Springs special and building a stronger future. We can do both. I want to support our local businesses and encourage responsible tourism and economic development, while protecting the unique character, history, and beauty that make people fall in love with our city. We must make decisions that give our community—and the next generation—a real reason to stay, invest, work, and build their lives right here. Achieving this takes balance, common sense, and, above all, listening. I don't believe leadership means having all the answers. True leadership means listening to the people who do, both inside and outside our city, and bringing everyone together to find real solutions.
